Car Insurance Porsche (Car Insurance). What would be a great second bike?

What would be a great second bike? I have an old Honda 1981 CX500D and am wondering what would be a good second bike? The Honda is a touring bike, and I am looking for a sports bike. My Honda has 497cc of power, and it is a driveshaft. I have no problem at all with it's power and think im ready for the next step up. I have been looking at some used Suzuki Hayabusas, but I am curious if they might be too much bike for me. Any recomendations would be great!

Yeah... you can "handle" 50 HP (when it was new, bet it has under 40 now), and you think you can just step onto a bike with 175hp and not have an issues. Maybe, but I bet that new 'Busa would be on the ground within a month. If you are happy with the power of your 500 from 1981 you would really be impressed by the average 600 which produces nearly double the horsepower of your cx500d. Take a look at the Honda cbr600rr. It has over 100hp. You will really apreciate the easy starting and seamless power of 12 hole triple mapping fuel injection. The Hayabusas do really good at going fast in a straight line. But, the cbr600rr is balanced left to right and has a 51% weight bias on the front wheel before the rider gets on. This is considered ideal for cornering. The only downfall is going back to chain drive. But, you would have that with a hayabusa too. Hayabusas are desperately uncomfortable until you get to illegal speeds, they probably take a corner as well as your plastic maggot (as CXs were unkindly known). Try an SV650 or an ER6 you will be floored by the improvements.

Porsche . How to Get Your Cars Ready For Winter

Fall is a good time to get your vehicle ready for the colder weather ahead.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Battery and terminal check. Have your battery checked once a year, especially if it's more than two years old. A qualified technician will perform a quick load test to make sure it's in good enough shape to keep you on the road. Also you can check your battery's terminals and cable connectors regularly. If you see corrosion, a simple mixture of baking soda and water will clean it off. In Michigan, faulty batteries and/or faulty terminal connections cause more car starting problem than any other factors.
2
Radiator Check - Have your coolant strength and level checked by a certified technician. The recommended protection is for 36 below 0. The level, condition, and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically. (A 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water is usually recommended.) Never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled!
3
Oil & Fluids - Check engine oil, brake, fluid, power steering fluid and transmission fluids and top off or change when necessary.
4
Belts & Hoses - Check belts and hoses for cracks, leaks and bulges. And make sure all clamps are secure.
5
Tires. Have tire wear inspected and check air pressure checked when tires are cold.
6
Lights & Signals. Run through all signal and light functions to ensure they are active.
7
Wind Shield Washer & Wipers. Check wipers for wear and make sure reservoir is filled with washer solvent. 24 % of all wiper blades checked before winter are worn or damaged.
8
Heater/Defroster-The heater and defroster must be in good working condition for passenger comfort and driver visibility.
9
Engine Performance-Get engine drivability problems (hard starts, rough idling, stalling, diminished power, etc.) corrected at a good repair shop. Cold weather makes existing problems worse. Replace dirty filters-air, fuel, PCV, etc.

Step by Step :
10
Emergencies-Carry gloves, boots, blankets, flares, a small shovel, sand or kitty litter, tire chains, a flashlight, and a cell phone. Put a few "high-energy" snacks in your glove box.

Porsche . How to Get a Car Battery Ready for Winter Storage

When winter arrives and you live in a cold climate, it's time to get your vintage car off the road and ready for storage. The one thing you should not overlook is how to get the car battery ready for winter storage. If you do not do this properly, come spring you'll have a dead battery or worse. It's possible the battery will crack, leak acid and pose an explosion or fire hazard.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Socket wrench
Baking soda and water
Scrub brush
Towel
Terminal brush
Anti-corrosive grease

Step by Step :
1
Use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Then disconnect the positive cable. Do not reverse this order or you could get shocked or short your car's electrical system. Remove the battery from the car.
2
Mix a 1-to-3 ratio of baking soda to cold water in a cup. Use a stiff scrub brush with the mix to scrub off all corrosion and rust from the battery holder tray in the engine compartment. Dry the tray with a towel. Scrub the ends of the battery cables clean with the mix as well and apply a light coating of anti-corrosive grease to them. You can find this grease, also called terminal grease, at any auto hardware store.
3
Clean the terminal posts on the battery with the baking soda mix and a terminal brush. Terminal brushes are specially designed with the bristles inside a round holder. Push the brush onto the post so the post is inside the terminal brush. Twist the brush to clean corrosion off the terminal. Lightly coat the terminals with the anti-corrosive grease.
4
Store the battery in a protected environment like a garage or basement. A protected environment should have a temperature that never goes below freezing.
Tips & Warnings
If you can't store your battery in a protected environment, connect a trickle charger to it. The constant current will preserve the charge and keep the battery warm enough so it will not freeze and crack.

Do not store your battery in a closed container, such as a cabinet or a car with the windows rolled up. Should your battery develop a leak, the gases can build up in an enclosed space and cause an explosion.

V V = 149 mph C Z = 149+ mph You may also find the speed rating listed in conjunction with the tire's load index, such as 97H. In this case, the 97 is the load index, and the H is the speed rating. If your car originally came fitted with speed-rated tires, you should replace them with speed-rated tires. Tire quality grade codes The Uniform Tire Quality Grading System rates tires for treadwear, traction, and temperature, but because these ratings are set by manufacturers and not by an objective testing service, they may not be accurate. If you want to use this information to compare various brands, consult Uniform Tire Quality Grading, a free consumer pamphlet published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 7th St. SW, Washington, DC 20590. Your dealer should also have a copy on hand. Look for these grades on tire sidewalls or on stickers affixed to the treads. Here's what they mean: ^00(' 885 Car Insurance 2010 dodge 251508

(l 02 '>art'": keeping Y°ur ^ar m Condition, System by System Tread wear: A comparative number grade based on carefully controlled testing conditions. In the "real world," a tire rated 200 would have twice the tread wear of one rated 100 — if all other wear factors were equal. Traction: This AA, A, B, or C grade represents the tire's ability to stop on wet asphalt and concrete pavement under controlled conditions (with AA being the best possible rating). The grades are based on straight-ahead braking only, not on cornering or turning. A tire with a C grade meets the government's test, while tires with B, A, and AA (in ascending order) exceed government standards. Temperature: This A, B, or C grade represents heat resistance and the tire's capability to dissipate the heat if the tire is inflated properly and not overloaded. Grade C meets U.S. minimum standards, while grades B and A exceed government standards. DOT identification and registration The DOT identification number on the sidewall serves as a registration number for the tire in case of a recall. This number tells where and when the tire was manufactured. Most of the data in the code isn't important for your purposes, but if you're curious, the following example tells what the various letters and numbers of a sample DOT code, DOT WOKAABC 262, mean: * DOT indicates that the tire meets or exceeds U.S. Department of Transportation safety standards. *

Porsche . How dangerous is truck driving?

GMC 2500 HD Club Coupe.
*
WO identifies the plant where the tire was made. Because tires are made at many different plants, you don't need to know all the variations of this code. If it matters to you where your tires were made, ask the dealer. * KA indicates the tire size. (In this case, the tire size is P194/75R14. Because the tire size is also on the sidewall, you don't need to know all the variations of this code, either.) * ABC identifies the brand or characteristics of the tire. Instead of decoding this piece, read the brochure that describes the tire in detail. * 262 indicates when the tire was made. (In this case, the number 262 means that the tire was made during the 26th week of 1982. Nifty, huh?)

When you buy new tires, make sure that they're properly registered. Under fed eral law, the dealer is required to put the tire's DOT number and the dealer's name and address on a form that is then sent to the manufacturer. Although tire outlets owned by manufacturers and certain brand-name outlets must send them in, independent tire dealers can simply fill out the forms and give them to customers to mail to the manufacturer. Unlike guarantees and war rantees, in case of a recall, you aren't eligible to receive replacements unless your tires have been properly registered and you respond to the recall within 60
